I recently took a short hike along the Huon River (Huon National Park Tasmania) in the state forest and wanted to check that coverage on the Inmarsat Isatphone 2 was as good as I thought! I checked the signal (3-4 bars) standing in a 15 metre approximate gap on edge of tree canopy. 

Locked on to voice satellite and within 1-2 minutes got a GPS signal, sent a test GPS text message to my mobile with success. Great to know the Inmarsat Isatphone 2 is as good as I think. Great safety system, and even in southern region of Tasmania in the mountains and a valley I still got great coverage. I preach the system is fantastic often, but awesome to know it really is the best when it counts.
