**URGENT SATELLITE FOOTPRINT OUTAGE**
6th Nov 2013
A new migration of Global Satellite Phone Services (GSPS) from Inmarsat-4 (I-4) F2 to the new Alphasat satellite will take place on 12 November 2013 during a scheduled three-hour maintenance window starting at 21:00 UTC.
During this time end-user customers will experience a service outage while Global Satellite Phone Services - which include IsatPhone Pro, IsatPhone Link and FleetPhone - are transferred.
Once the migration is complete, GSPS traffic will resume as normal and customers will be able to make voice calls and set up data connections in the usual way. No additional action by end-users is required.
We will inform you when the successful transfer of GSPS traffic to Alphasat has been completed.
Please note that the coverage footprint of Alphasat will be different to that of the existing I-4 F2 satellite, as shown by the dashed line in the attached coverage map.
Also, under the Alphasat footprint GSPS coverage has been prioritised on the region north of 44 degrees South. A small number of GSPS users may experience a degradation of performance south of this latitude following the transfer.
